I have been on the river 4 out of the last 5 days and have been away from following Duke basketball. However I get the text message yesterday about the "breaking news" that Coach K is considering a return to USA Basketball. We have been down this road before. Duke fans seem to be split on this decision. Some think it takes away from Duke Basketball. Some think it a great idea for K to run the Olympic team.
Well...me... I am on board for K to once again run the Olympic team! With a 62-1 record during his run with the Olympic team...who better is there to coach I ask? Nobody! Even the winningest coach of all time raises the bar and challenges himself to become greater and greater....and I 100% support that!
You can take a lot from sports and apply it to everyday life. Do the same thing over and over again...how are you gonna grow? You gotta be willing to take on new ideas and different challenges and step out of the comfort zone if you are ever gonna reach new levels.
If Coach K decides to run the Olympic team again... then Congrats to him I look forward to seeing him once again work with the elite level athletes team USA has on another mission for Gold. If he decides not too...I'm cool with that. The fact that he hasn't closed the door on it shows me that he is a Coach who is willing to challenge himself on an every day basis. is Duke fan need to be thankful for a Coach like that!
