Top 5 Duke Basketball Games for Next Season
Duke released their 2013/2014 basketball schedule yesterday.  You can see in the pic above from Duke Blue Planet that the schedule is once again packed with some tough teams that should easily keep Duke's strength of schedule and RPI in the top 10 and most likely top 5.   The non conference schedule is stacked with Duke facing top teams in Kansas, Michigan, UCLA, and a possible preseason NIT final against Arizona.  Duke will have tough conference match ups against newcomer Syracuse (home and away) as well as the usual intense rivalry with UNC (home and away).    Throw in other match ups against last year NCAA Tourney teams in Davidson, Notre Dame, Pittsburg, NC State and Miami and you have a brutal schedule of which 11 teams and 13 of the games will be against last year NCAA Tourney teams.

The link below will take you to an article I did for Duke Report back in June on what I think will be the top 5 games for Duke next season.

Thanks for following my site.  The upcoming article on visiting the Duke and Unc locker rooms is still in the works but I will have it out before the season starts.  We have plans to be at 4 games before the ACC season even starts as well as CTC.  So check back in for articles, pics, videos, and blog entries from our trips to the games.  I strongly believe this will be one of the most fun Duke teams to watch.  So if you are sitting on the fence about going to a game...now is the time to make it happen!  GO DUKE!

Click on the link below to get to the ESPN College Game Day Schedule.  Duke will be on the Game Day schedule 2 times for their away game at Syracuse on 2/1/13 and their home game against Unc on 3/8/13.  The away game at Syracuse has the potential to break a record for on campus attendance.  As always every other year ESPN saves the best stop for last.  And that stop is at Cameron Indoor Stadium for the biggest rivalry in all of sports.  Duke vs. Unc.  I have been to 2 ESPN College Game Day shows at Duke including the last stop there on 3/3/12.  It is quite the experience.  I encourage all Duke fans to come out March 8th 2014, when Game Day comes to Duke.  It is a free event.  You get to see how the show is recorded live as you get to be a part of the live audience.  If you can't make Game Day, check back here.  I will be attending ESPN Game Day as well as the Duke Unc game and will post to my blog as the events happen.

It's Getting Closer...

Today it really kicked in that the 2013/2014 Duke basketball season is getting closer.  I just dropped $550 on basketball tickets for games that are before ACC season even starts! This team is shaping up to be possibly  one of the most exciting Duke teams to watch.  If you followed me last year, you know I took you with me on the experience of games and events through articles, pics, videos, and blog entries.  Last year I made the clinic, CTC, 6 home games, and 1 away game with the highlight for me being my 1st Duke Unc game.  This year I plan to make as many games as my schedule will allow.  So far I will be at CTC 10/18, home games of Davidson 11/8, Vermont 11/24, Gardner Webb 12/16, away games of Elon 12/31.  I will be on the road a lot before ACC season even starts.  The plan is to try and make a few ACC games with UNC being the top priority.
Over the summer I was blessed to be able to travel to a few locations with beautiful views such as Miami, Key West, Cozumel, and Myrtle Beach.  However, one summer morning I found myself taking a tour of the UNC basketball facilities.  When I entered the Unc locker room, I realized that I am one of probably very few people (with exception to the media and recruits) who has had the opportunity to visit both the Duke and Unc locker rooms.  Wanna see what it looks like and feels like to be in the hearts of the opposite sides of Tobacco Road? .... well stay tuned as I will have an article out very soon talking about my experience.
Also in the works is an article on top spots to eat at while in Durham to catch a Duke game.  After talking with former students and fans, I have got a list of top places to eat at.  Look for that article out in the winter with pics and reviews after I have checked out the places.
Until then... GO DUKE and GTHC!
