Check out my recent article for Duke Report in the link below.   Duke played a crazy tough schedule last season and things are shaping up for Duke to play another solid schedule for the upcoming season!

Very cool pic from I believe Duke Blue Planet or ESPN last year as fans wondered "What does it take to be number 1?"

Congrats to Jason Williams for being inducted into the Duke Athletics Hall of Fame!  Jason Williams took in many awards as the national player of the year during the 2001-2002 season.  Jason Williams also helped lead to Duke to the National Championship in 2001.   One of my favorite Duke players of all time who played with passion and intensity every time he walked on the court.  Congrats Jason Williams!
The link below will take you to a video of the "miracle minute" in which Jason Williams lead Duke back from 10 points down to send the game to over time and beat Maryland.

GRANT HILL RETIRES FROM NBA...

With the recent news of Grant Hill retiring from the NBA, many will look back on what he has done for the game of basketball.  Duke fans will never forget the 2 National Championships (1991 and 1992) he was a part of!  Grant Hill also had a long and successful career in the NBA.  Even with the injuries Hill battled through, he still was a  seven-time All-Star who also finished with career averages of 16.7 points, 6.0 rebounds and 4.1 assists. Hill was also the 1995 Rookie of the Year, and a five-time All-NBA selection (one first-team).  Hill is one of the best ambassadors of the game!  With the average NBA career lasting between 5-6 years, Grant Hill had recently finished up his 19th season!  Here is to wishing Grant success at whatever challenge he takes on next!

Photo courtesy of Slam.   The link below will take you to a YouTube video of the most famous pass (Hill) and shot (Laettner) in basketball known as "the shot"!  The link below that will take you to a Duke Blue Planet video of Hill and Laettner talking about the greatest shot in basketball history.

SO...WHICH COLLEGE IS AT THE TOP OF MEN'S DIVISION 1 SPORTS?...

I follow mostly college football, basketball, soccer and some lacrosse.  However, I do keep up with the Capital One Cup Standings.  The Capital One Cup recognizes the best in Men's and Women's Division 1 college sports.  The standings get updated throughout the season after every NCAA Championship.  For all those who think Duke is only a men's college basketball school...you better think again!  Look who leads the men's standings.  Stats don't lie.  A shout out to the Duke women's teams for being ranked 9th!  The link below will take you to the Capital One Cup current standings.  GO DUKE!
