It's finally here!

Tomorrow UNC will travel 8 miles down Tobacco Road to take on DUKE in Cameron Indoor Stadium.  This is the biggest rivalry in all sports.  There have been some epic games over the years with crazy finishes ranging from...

The Chris Duhon layup to beat Unc at the Dean Dome in 2004  (link below)

...to the Austin Rivers dagger in 2012 to sink Unc in the Dean Dome  (link below)

Then there was that one rivalry game I will never forget...  The blowout of Unc at Cameron Indoor Stadium in 2010 on the way to Duke winning the national championship (link below)

There have been some great games over the years between these 2 schools who are only 8 miles apart.

I went to my 1st Duke Unc game at Cameron Indoor Stadium back in February 2013.  It was at the top of my
bucket list and so.. I had to make it happen.  I splurged the $ and got a front row seat (upper level) behind the Unc bench.  I decided to document my entire experience from hanging out with the Cameron Crazies in Kville...to the electric atmosphere in Cameron during the game... to the bonfire celebration of the win after.  Click on the link below to see my movie (approx. 22 minutes)  of my experience at my 1st Duke Unc game.  The movie is made up of 33 short videos and pics in order that document my 1st Duke Unc game experience.

Orange Juice anybody?...

With the win over Syracuse, Duke has now improved their record to 22-3.  This was a tough battle for Duke.  The first half saw Michael Gbinije (former Duke player who transferred to Syracuse) get on fire with scoring 19 points including five 3-pointers.  Duke went into the half down by 3 points.  The 2nd half saw Duke come out shooting hot.  Rakeem Christmas tried to make an impact for Syracuse.  Christmas ended up with 11 points.  Duke ended up winning by a score of 80-72 led by Jahil Okafor with 23 points, Quinn Cook with 17 points, and the athleticism of Justise Winslow with 12 points.   I guess you could say...  Christmas has passed by... but Happy Valentine's Day Syracuse!  ;)

There's nothing else even close enough that will get you ready for March Madness like wearing the Duke uniform.  Duke is every other team's Super Bowl!  Check out the pic below from Duke Blue Planet.  Yet another record for Duke and Coach K.  The largest on-campus crowd in college basketball history.  And who was the team coming to town that packed out the Carrier Dome?  Yep..it's Duke.  But wait... this record was also set last season when... Duke played at the Carrier Dome.

Here's another couple pics from Duke Blue Planet of an empty Carrier Dome and a sold out Carrier Dome that gives you a look at how big the Dome is.  The Duke Effect helped sell out the Carrier Dome.

Blacksburg will bring it's best and largest crowd for the DUKE vs. VT game coming up on Feb. 25th.  It is VT's biggest game of the year.  Check out the pic below from @VT_MBBall Twitter page back from January 16th.   It is the 1st sellout of the year for VT...and yeah you can thank The Duke Effect for that!

The stats don't lie...  When Duke comes to town...the opposing team, the fanbase, and the town itself gets pumped up.  With 5 top 10 games played so far... of which... Duke won 4 of the 5 games... and of which 4 of the 5 were on the road...and with being every team's SuperBowl... you better believe Duke will be battle tested come March!  You can love Duke....you can hate Duke... just remember love and hate are both forms of energy that happen to be on opposite sides of the coin.  And that 4 letter word... DUKE... bring out that energy in everybody.

Here's to looking forward to yet another epic rivalry game with UNC this coming Wednesday!

Last night Duke beat Georgia Tech in Cameron by a score of 72-66.  This was the first home game in over a week.  Last week took the Blue Devils on a 3 game away slate to St. Johns, Notre Dame, and Virginia.  Many fans were wondering how would Duke respond after an intense week of ups and downs.  The Duke defense still looks like a work in progress at this point.  But hey, an ugly win is still  a win.  Here's to hoping the next few weeks of ACC games helps Duke find a balance that works of using zone and man to man in their defense.  What do I think was the play of the game last night?  Well, that's an easy question.  The TEAM floor slap above was the play of the game.  Earlier in the game, a GT player slapped the floor at mid court as GT was making a comeback.  I then quickly thought to myself... "oh no he didn't"...  I was hoping to see a response from the Duke team.  A few minutes later, it happened.  The Duke team slapped the floor all at once.  That was the moment as Coach K always says "5 become 1".  I took a screen shot of the floor slap above and posted it to Twitter.  The screen shot then quickly spread through social media.  The Cameron Crazies picked up their intensity after the team floor slap.  You could just feel that Duke wasn't going to lose this game in the closing minutes.  The win last night gave Coach K another record.  He passed Dean Smith as having the most ACC Career Wins.  The pic below from Duke Blue Planet shows the top 3 coaches and number of ACC wins they have.  Last week Coach K hit the 1,000 wins mark.  So... what record is in store for next week?  Lol!  At this point, Coach K seems to have his foot on the gas pedal and doesn't seem to be slowing down anytime soon...and that is a great sign for Duke fans!
